Goal Setting

Do you want to learn how to set goals? To start setting goals for your life, you have to know what you want. If you do not know what you want, you have to figure out what you want in life.
Let me ask you, do you really know what you want in life? There are 6 categories in life that you should set goals for, your social life, your career, your financial life, your educational life, your spiritual life and your health. Find out what you want in these categories. If you don’t know what you want, then who does?

After you decide what you want in those 6 categories, then prioritize your goals and concentrate on the highest, most important goals.
Once you know your super objective or main goal in life, set targets to achieve your goals. Studies show that people who plan for the long term achieve more than what they planned for and the ones who plan for short term, achieve less than what they planned for. In other words, if you plan for five or ten years and work hard on achieving your goals, you would accomplish more than what you planned for about 150% The people who plan for a week or a month, achieve around 70% of what they want.  See how important is goal setting?
Your present life is the result of your decisions and choices in the past and your life in the future is the result of your decisions and choices that you are making today. Take charge of what you think and feel. Always think about how to improve and enhance yourself and how you are going to accomplish your goals. By thinking about how to accomplish your goals, I mean you have to ask questions and answer them. All of the successful people who ask themselves questions and get an answer to them, achieve higher goals. Always, ask the following questions:
1. What? What do you want to achieve? How is your goal going to affect your life?
2. Why? Why do you want to achieve this goal?
3. How? How are you going to achieve your goal? What are the ways and steps you are going to use to make you attain your goals?
4. When? When do you want to achieve your goal? 6 months from now? One year from now? 5 years for now? It is important to know the exact time.
By asking these four questions, you will be on the way to asking yourself meaningful questions so you accomplish your goals.
